Young guest patient from afghanistan successfully operated on in scheblitz

For over ten years, the scheblitz legal clinic has supported the children’s aid organization friedensdorf international in the free treatment of children from war-torn and crisis areas.
Dr. Matthias biedermann, head of trauma surgery and orthopaedics, immediately agreed to treat eleven-year-old ebrahim again this year. Together with around 70 other children from afghanistan and other central asian countries, the boy landed at dusseldorf airport, where volunteers from the BRK bamberg were already waiting to take the young patient to the hospital.
For years, ebrahim had suffered from chronic osteomyelitis (bone inflammation) in his left thigh. Therefore he was taken to the afghan red crescent, the partner organization of the peace village, and presented there. The bright young man lives in poor conditions with his parents and six younger siblings in the afghan province of longar.
Rapid recovery
At the scheblitz law clinic, chief physician dr. Biedermann and his team operated on the open-minded little patient after appropriate examination and diagnosis, and the chronic inflammation was brought to an end. Quickly after the operation, he moved around the corridors in his wheelchair and discovered a different environment. After a successful recovery, the afghan boy returned to the peace village in oberhausen (north rhine-westphalia), where he can relax with other children from many different nations, playing games until he returns to his family.
Ebrahim is the fourteenth child to be treated free of charge in scheblitz. For more than 30 years, the organization friedensdorf international has flown twice a year to this war-torn and crisis-ridden country to provide medical treatment in germany for children who cannot be helped in their home country. The juraklinik in scheblitz with managing director udo kunzmann and chief physician dr. Biedermann are gladly available for this support and take over the appropriate care of the children.
