Pastoral care: in the right place in prison

His workplace is a place of mistrust. You don’t find real friends here. To open oneself can have bad consequences. But that is precisely why it is important to georg ruhsert to be there for people in a difficult personal situation as a trustworthy discussion partner and companion. The schwarzacher stands by prisoners in wurzburg and schweinfurt as a pastor.

The interview date is running late. A death in the family of a prisoner. For pastoral counselor georg ruhsert, it’s not a question of what’s going on now: it’s not him who has to report on his work for an article, but the person who is in an exceptional situation and may need his support. He offers them, makes it clear that he is there for the prisoner. Whether the person accepts it is up to him. In prison, the church is not so different from "out".

Study: pension insurance also necessary for civil servants

Study: pension insurance also necessary for civil servants

If these occupational groups also paid into the statutory pension insurance, a falling pension level and rising contribution rates could be prevented. This is the result of a study by the ruhr university in bochum commissioned by the bertelsmann foundation, which was published on monday. While the federal labor ministry does not think much of such a citizen’s insurance scheme, the SPD parliamentary group has submitted its own proposal.

When the baby boomers of 1955 to 1970 retire, the level of pensions in germany will fall and the contribution rate will have to rise, predicts the study’s simulation calculation. Even with higher labor productivity due to technical progress, the previous pension reforms were not sufficient to stabilize the pension system.

Problems on the hump track

Her illness put her in a wheelchair: manuela ehrhardt was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis 34 years ago, and has been unable to walk since 2008. Nevertheless, she tries to live as independently as possible. The 60-year-old lives in a nursing home in the mainpark and is mobile thanks to her electric wheelchair.
The way from the mainpark to the city center is short – but it's not easy for the wheelchair user: "there are obstacles everywhere that most people don't even think about. But for me, sometimes just one centimeter at a curb decides whether I can continue on my way or have to wait for help from someone else, says ehrhardt.
Reason enough for the 60-year-old, who is also involved as chairwoman of the residents' association of the mainpark, to take care of improvements herself. She took pictures of the problem areas and sent them to the city of kulmbach with a letter to the mayor. She has also contacted the spokeswoman of the grunen district board, dagmar keis-lechner. The mother of a severely disabled daughter in a wheelchair has a lot of experience with the difficulties of everyday wheelchair life.
To see where help could be given in individual cases, michael barnickel, head of the city's building yard, met with manuela ehrhardt, accompanied by keis-lechner, but also by sven werner, who has to cope with even more problems in everyday life with his wheelchair without electric drive, especially when he has no one with him to push his scooter.

A tour of the grunzug
For the residents of the mainpark, the park is a walking path and a direct link to the city hall and the city center. The stone of the anstob in the literal sense here is the paving of the paths. "You really get scuffed up. That is very unpleasant", laments manuela ehrhardt. Michael barnickel gets to try it out for himself and is pushed over the bumpy slope in a wheelchair."Couldn't you grout the pavement here to get a more even surface??" Asks the 60-year-old. That does not solve the problem, says the head of the building yard. The granite paving, laid on chippings, has very uneven, uneven textures. "Grouting does not help either." Even rolling was only found to work on a pavement with a flat surface. Replacing the entire pavement in one go is unrealistic for the time being: "that would be a major investment."
With less effort, however, other problems can be solved. Example of a central parking lot: on the fubgangeruberweg near the "fire station a piece of the curb was slightly raised. Minimal intervention – great effect, praises manuela ehrhardt and wishes for more of these "tar sausages for softer crossings, for example at the pedestrian walkway at the schwedensteg in the direction of the train station.
And then there are still some sidewalk potholes around the mainpark. To repair this damage and also the one or other "tar sausage"-michael barnickel believes that it is possible to fulfill this wish without rough terrain, and he promised to take care of the problem.

Cult band remains a magnet for visitors

It’s madness: the cult band "waldschrat remains a visitor magnet. Already at 7 p.M., an hour before the first rhythms hammer through the marquee, there is no more space available. The fans stand at the tables and have to listen without a view of the stage.

And inside the party is going on, the more than 500 people sing along, know the classics by heart. The beer is flowing in streams, the waiters can hardly keep up. The more time goes on, the more exuberant it gets.
Those who heat up the audience are harry troger (drums and vocals), michael sommermann (electric bass and double bass), roland schiefnetter (guitar), christoph lemberg (electric bass) and jan jansen (keyboard).

It is shortly after 1. Crowds stream from centerstage toward arena. Green day has long since stopped playing – and boys noize on the alternastage "is really not rock". At least that's what 19-year-old luzie claims. The petite brunette is hanging badly on the ropes – or rather: on the barrier to the trench, directly in front of the stage of the clubstage.

The sun, the heat, the constant shuttling between three stages and the never-ending parties at the festival campsite have already taken their toll on her and her friends on the second day of rock in the park. "Half of us didn't make it, they're already in the tent. But I'm holding on, ironclad, luzie says and a hint of anticipation emerges on her face. "This is one band you just can't miss."

Gunter munz finally has a donor heart

413 days. Gunter munz knows exactly. That's how long he waited. Day by day – on a heart.

Last year he spent christmas in the clinic in erlangen. This year he did not want it anymore. "I was so down in the dumps the weeks before that I said, "if I donate a heart on the 24th, I'll have to give it back. I don't have a heart yet, so I'll pack my suitcase and just go'." The last eight weeks in particular were difficult for zeyerner and his family. "It was pure horror. It was getting closer and closer to christmas, my mother was getting worse. I became more and more weak. The weekly visits to erlangen were no longer any fun at all: once again we were in the hospital and once again nothing happened, declares wife heidi.
